Tanya Saari has called Barrie home for 21 years. In that time she has built a career, raised three children, served her community, and watched this city grow, and she knows firsthand that growth doesn't automatically translate into better lives for the people who live here.
Tanya brings a rare combination of real-world experience to this race. Her background spans nearly a decade in banking across client services, lending, and investments, followed by a career as a realtor serving Simcoe County, where she has worked at the intersection of housing, community, and the financial realities facing everyday families. She has owned and operated a small business, and currently serves as Managing Director of an affordable housing organization, giving her direct, executive-level experience with one of the most pressing challenges facing Barrie and communities across Ontario.

Beyond her professional career, Tanya has dedicated years to community service. She has served on boards and contributed to organizations working to strengthen the social fabric of Barrie and Simcoe County. In 2024 she was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal in recognition of her decades in community service across Barrie and Simcoe County.
She is running for Mayor because Barrie deserves leadership that reflects the full breadth of this city, its residents, its neighbourhoods, its businesses, and its future. Not a city managed from the top down, but one built together.
